Great BBQ & fabulous service! Everyone super nice and took great care of us. Price was amazing and portions were big. Also loved how big the space was. Tons of tables and tvs for sports!! Next time I’ll bring the whole family !!

We initially were just stopping in to have a drink and check out the new place, but ended up staying for the full experience. The atmosphere is very inviting. Ample seating at the bar with huge TVs and all the sports. We started with the prickly frozen margaritas and brisket queso which were both amazing. Hubby said it’s his favorite queso. Our bartenders were very friendly and gave great recommendations. That’s when we decided to stay for entrees. We each got the two meat/two sides plates so we could sample a bit of everything. We had turkey, sausage, ribs, cheese n mac, borracho beans, jalapeño corn, and potato salad. All the meat were juicy and had great smoke flavor, and ribs were sliding off the bones. All the sides were top notch. The beans had a great kick to them, corn is creamy and delicious, and you can’t go wrong with the potato salad and cheese n mac. All and all, we had an amazing experience and incredible food. We will definitely be back soon! I really hate giving bad reviews, but I guess I’m just the first reviewer who’s not a personal friend or something, because the previous reviews have heaped praise on what is perhaps the worst (Texas) BBQ in Denton. Brisket? Please see photo that shows ZERO bark (owner and staff say “That’s just because we season lightly.”). Only problem with that is that seasoning isn’t all of where bark comes from. It’s the smoke. Or in this case the lack thereof. Watch Aaron Franklin do a brisket where he’s only lightly uses salt and pepper and then tell me “it’s the pepper that makes the bark” (owners words). Also see my video where the brisket sits like a plank across my finger. No droop. And the pull I do in the video shows the dryness. Sides were super underwhelming. Very bland corn and potato salad. And calling simple pintos (while actually passable) “borracho” is an insult to the Mexican culture. Now for the good notes. They kindly included a sample of their turkey. It was good. Not great because of a lack of seasoning or smoke flavor, but very moist! Coming in second was the pulled pork. Same thing. Very moist with good pork flavor, but no seasoning or smoke. Also, beware of either sauce

I really wanted to like this place. Denton doesn't have any decent barbecue, so when I saw this place opened and was getting good reviews, I figured I'd give it a shot. Well, I can definitely say that Denton still doesn't have any decent barbecue. Customer service: I had a couple of people in front of me when I walked in. Carrie was polite and got me taken care of. She also checked on me while I ate. Brisket: I'm not sure how they're cooking here, but the brisket seemed boiled. It was sliced very thin and the fat wasn't properly rendered. The flavor was alright, but for premium prices ($33/lb) I expected brisket that was at least somewhat comparable to some of the well known places. Turkey: the turkey wasn't bad. Not much flavor, but it was decently moist. Jalapeño cheddar sausage: one if the big things sausage is graded in in Texas barbecue is the case snap. This didn't have it. Flavor and texture were just alright. Pulled pork: of the meats, this was the winner. Again, I'm not sure how they cook the meats here (maybe rotisserie? Definitely not an offset smoker), but it wasn't dry and had good flavor. Mac and cheese: I wasn't a fan. Pinto beans: these were cooked perfectly.

Glad to see them finally open. Delicious food. Sausage is the stand out item (pork belly/beef combo). Cream corn has a great flavor. Generous portions and they delivered free banana pudding to our table. Nice! This would be a good place to go watch a game.
